and

"my bed was cold at night unless [very very slight pause] (minor giggle for 2 words) we watched a scary movie that night"

ideal voice would be a weary, tired, drained raspy voice. if you need inspiration, get blackout drunk, and during the morning hangover crawl out of bed and record the dialogue. the speaker in question is emotionally exhausted and humoring the last obstacle to bed time.
