Hey /wsr/, so my schools website filtering doesn't allow for me to access 4chan, so when I go home I just go into 4chan there, but now I'm home, and for some reason the website filtering from the schools IP is carrying over to my home IP. I'm mobilefag right now because of it, my phone can access 4chan but my laptop can't. What do?

So i guess you are in a Domain. That gives the Network admins full control over your laptop (as long as you are in the school network). The changes made while beeing in the Network will persist after going out of range of the school network.

you can't without them noticing you're messing with your PC. You can reistall Windows on the System. Everything else is going to need Domain Admin access (,exept the Admins messed something up and left something unprotected).

open a CMD window and enter "ipconfig /all". You IP should be something like 192.168.x.x
The DNS should be some think very different if my assumption is correct

hmm, you can try something but i think Microsoft disabled it in Windows 10.
Create a Textfile. write "command.com" and save it. The rename the .txt ending to .bat and run. Maybe it works.

Additionally, to find youre network settings. You can go to Networkadapters and open the Deteils of your Adapter, DNS is listed there as well.

i hope u get a cheap PC, maybe a 2nd hand desktop or parts from a PC recycling place or something. Much cheaper and more reliable then a laptop desu.

If you're dirt poor and the USB Access of you're laptop is not restricted in BIOS, you could buy a USB3.0 Stick and install Windows on that. I never tried that before, but it should work. The USB speed should be enough to browse, but i doubt anything beyond that is going to be a good experience.

Can you get into the bios and set it to boot from USB? If you can then get a $20 128GB usb stick, install Windows on it (or PC-BSD or Linux Mint), and watch as the school is none the wiser. When the year is up, you can just unplug the stick and it will revert back exactly as it was with 0 history of what you have done.
