As of yesterday, I have totally cleared out my anime backlog, so I am looking for recommendations.

I typically do not like objects or traditionally inanimate objects talking, comedy, schoolgirl sol shows, and annoying protagonists.

Many of the shows I find enjoyable are very tragic; the protagonist suffers and loses a lot, and important characters die.

Some shows I have enjoyed in the past:
