I hate dual audio because I have to switch languages with every new episode which is annoying as fuck.

Thanks a lot anon. If you can't help, I'd also accept suggestions on 50+ episode shounen shows I should watch instead of Fairy Tail (I've already watched Yu Yu, FMA and HxH).

Most long running shonenfags are also dubfags so all the releases of Fairy Tail cater to that. You'll have to bite the bullet on that one. While I don't doubt the BDs are an upscale, I think the only DVD release is Exiled-Destiny, which typically has low-effort subs (i.e. unstyled/untouched picture subs ripped from the disc) because they are also dubfags. So pick your poison on that, unstyled subs or big filesize.

As for your long running shonen needs, I recommend Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters. There is finally a good subbed (single audio) DVD rip of it. Great series for shonenfags, except for the horrible and painfully long Millennium World arc.

Is there maybe a way to force an audio track number for a whole folder? Like, "for this folder always prefer track 2" which is the japanese one?
I can set preferred language to jap in most players, but that doesn't work at all.
I still have to manually change audio on each episode. So fucking tedious.

I don't know of any way to set the flag per folder (I only use MPC). First thing I would try is to set "jpn" to be preferred as well as "jap", sometimes one tag works but not the other.

Then as a last resort I'd mux out the undesired tracks myself using something like MKVBatch, which is a little extra work, but you might consider it worth it if you don't like tapping A and S at the start of 175 episodes.
