I'm looking for some good, less known anime movies. I have seen everything by Oshii, Ghibli, Kon, Kawajiri, Koike, Yuasa and every Gainax movie. Feature length OVAs are also fine. Recently I've seen Gauche the Chellist and Arete Hime. I've also seen Cobra and Golgo by Dezaki and every movie by studio Bones.

The chart also has movies I've seen just in case to avoid those.

Don't have MAL, sorry. I'm okay with older stuff. Reminds me that I've also seen all the Animerama movies, Hakujaden and Hols.

I can't see Belladonna of Sadness, but it's probably way too mainstream to be worth mentioning. Hopefully I'm wrong, but doubt it.

There's a reason why so few anime movies get mainstream coverage. The VAST majority of them suck so hard.

Fuck I don't even class Akira and Ghilbi movies as anime since the medium sucks as a whole.

- The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon (1963)
- Doggie March (1964)
- Gulliver's Travels Beyond the Moon (1965)
- Jack and the Witch (1967)
- Puss n' Boots (1969) and its sequel (1972)
- Animal Treasure Island (1971)
- Alibaba's Revenge (1971)
- Taro the Dragon Boy (1979)

Have you seen everything by Miyazaki and Takahata pre-Ghibli? Like, Chie the Brat or Cagliostro? I'm sure you have, but gotta check.
Speaking of Lupin III, many good Lupin films out there.

The Crayon Shin-chan film series is solid to fantastic, in my opinion the best are 1 through 13 and 22, with 24 this year looking really sweet too.

Only pre-Ghibli Takahata and Miyazaki I've seen would be Cagliostro, Nausicaa and Gauche I think.

How is it with Aim for the Ace? Is it better to ses the the series or the movie?

You can do either, but I personally hold the film in higher regard. I remember reading somewhere that Oshii was struck by how well adapted into a film it was that he had watched it dozens of times.
