Seriously though, the bourgeoisie was growing stronger, the nobles were a joke from times past but were still opressing the fucking proletariat, so the proletariat got fed up with this bullshit, and we killed the king.

Then Napoleon came and we forgot about democracy. Then he got fucked in the ass and we were back to saying "yeah muh freedom".

Also this picture is during the Trente Glorieuses, which is after the actual revolution.
