Anyway, you're asking something hard. Anime is intrinsically a "kawaii" medium for teenagers so you aren't going to find a serious romance, or a romance with a good main plot.

If you want something light-hearted, I personally enjoyed Nodame Cantabile.

NGE desu but you likely have seen it before.
Colorful is good, same animator as SEL.
Cowboy Bebop minus the good plot twist.
Big O is pretty good.

I know this for the most part is normiecore but I don't care, these are especially comfy when stoned.
