Protip: If you want something usable, install Ubuntu. But don't because you want to suffer. Look up tons of GNU/Linux videos.
You'll also want to find a couple of security books. Grab some by O'Rielly from
Bookzz.org or something. Read the wikipedia pages on software, executables, etc. Learn what JavaScript is. Just explore my man.
As for hardware, just read Comptia A+. That's literally it.
