Entry-level anime plebeian here. I want to watch something with a lot of action. I'm mainly interested in mecha and sci-fi. I've watched big titles like GiTS and Cowboy Bebop. First season of Evangleion + the movie. I've started down the /m/ route with Macross and PATlabor (in progress) and I can't get into the older Gundams. I also watched a shorter film called Magnetic Rose that I really enjoyed.

I also have Gunbuster and Diebuster sitting here to watch but I know nothing about them.

I'm also interested in non sci-fi too. I watched Sword of the Stranger and liked it. I'm looking for anything that does action well so I can study and see how the professionals do it.

What else can I add to my collection?
