I've seen clips from this anime about 16th century Catholicism in Japan, and the resulting conflicts. There is one scene where there are a bunch of glowing crosses that kill or otherwise disable an attacking army. It was also misleadingly named so that people thought it was a sequel of an unrelated anime. It is from the mid-90s, I think. If anyone knows of the name, I would be grateful.
