Thunderbolt is laughably trite. If you want a genuinely grim Gundam series, Zeta or Victory are the way to go. Although watching Zeta requires 0079 viewing beforehand.

Most depressing ever? Can't say, but it's definitely up there on what comes to hopelessness.
