Does anyone know of an anime similar to Crest/Banner of the Stars? Basically a romance in a space opera type sci-fi. I'm craving more.

Sums up Macross pretty well. The premise is kinda ridiculous, but the execution really carries it home as a classic.

Plus is a decently entertaining watch, if only for having the most beautiful hand drawn dogfights known to man.

But yeah, Macross as a franchise is probably the worst offender of wasted potential I've ever seen next to its forgotten brother Orguss.
