Girlvynil was having a panel in some con. Jewt was in the audience, IIRC in the first row. She took questions, and Jewt told her off for killing ED, while she bitched about the ED community being ungrateful or whatever.

For more context: Girlvynil was the owner of the ED server. Don't remember if she was the founder or not. ED had already gone by a few incarnations by then. But anyway, she killed the database and redirected ED to her shitty KYM clone, called "Oh!Internet" I believe. She didn't even give the database to others willing to keep ED going. So the next incarnation's database had to be reconstructed with saved/cached pages, and a fuckton of info was lost.

So jewt, who had deleted /r9k/ and /new/, noticed how he was being a hypocrite by complaining about girlvynil killing ED and refusing a place for its community to stay, when he had killed /r9k/ and /new/, refusing a place for their communities to stay. So he re-instituted /r9k/ and /new/ (now as /pol/).
