When I'm downloading anime, how am I supposed to know which subgroup is the best to download without downloading and watching the subs myself?

But what about when you want to watch an older show from back when fansubbing actually existed, and there are BD versions from multiple subgroups?

I usually just look at the comments for each group on the anime's page on MAL, write all of them off as knowing nothing, and then download the release with the most seeds.

Works every time.
