I'm trying to take screenshots from certain videos, but instead of being full-screen, they come out at native resolution of the video.

MPC-HC's screenshot tool always takes the native resolution. That's real nice most of the time, when you want a normal screenshot regardless of how you are watching the video, but it can be annoying at other times. If you just want to be able to screenshot your screen resolution then you can do a print screen while the video is full screened and that should work fine.

No hope of that ever getting changed though, since MPC-HC is no longer being maintained.

They weren't going to change it anyway, so it's not like your situation is any different. If you care that hard, you've got the source code, you can change it yourself.
