I need help with this probability question for my data analysis class.

So there are 143 male students out of 240 and 145 city students out of 240. If a student is chosen at random, what is the probability of choosing a male or a student who resides in the city?

I calculated 288/240 which is 120%. Is this shit right?

Calculate the probability of selecting a female student not from the city and subtract that from 1.

Male, City = 143
Female, Burb = 95
Male, Burb = 0

You can't solve the problem unless you know the joint probability. Or you assume being male and being in the city are independent.
