What is the answer for this basic algebra equation and could you explain how you got it. Looking for a refresher on the subject.

If 4(3x +2) -(x+5)= -3 then X=?

a. 11/6
b. -11/6
c. 6/11
d. -6/11

4(3x+2) - (x+5) = 3
4(3x+2) = 3 + (x+5)
3x + 2 = (3 + (x+5))/4
3x + 2 = 3/4 + x/4 + 5/4
3x - (x/4) = 3/4 + 5/4 - 2
4(3x - (x/4)) = (3/4 + 5/4 - 2)*4
12x - x = 3 + 5 - 8
11x = 0
x = 0

4(3x+2) - (x+5) = 3
4(3(0)+2) - ((0)+5) = 3
4(0+2) - (0+5) = 3
8-5=3

12x + 8 - x - 5 = -3
11x + 3 = -3
11x = -6
x = -6/11

The answer to your second question is C. Both. The first is factored to (x+2)(x-2) and the second to (x+3)(x-2), you can FOIL to check my work.
