>>422715True, but I see the first season as a self-contained story, whereas the second season is more like half a story selling you the next season or reading the manga. Which is why I picked it as my favorite. While in 08th's case, those first four episodes are directly connected to the rest of it. Maybe that doesn't really counter what you're saying though and I'm dumb. It is a shame though that the original director of 08th died while it was airing, because he was clearly making a masterpiece. Or maybe the same thing would've happened, we'll never know.
Also, I should have actually put Thunderbolt: December Sky in my original post. It works way better as a movie than 4 separate episodes with credits in between each.
