Looking for a fun mecha anime. Emphasis on fun.
My definition of fun: Intense, hyperviolent, packed to the brim with over the top action, awesome fights, and non-stop hype. Bonus points for "so ridiculous it's awesome" premise.
Not my definition of fun: Trying to pose as a serious war drama or a deep psychological series, while at the same time literally being a show about giant toys fighting monsters and/or aliens.
I haven't seen much of mecha anime. Here are the ones I've seen:
>Shin Getter Robo
>Evangelion
>Mazinkaiser
>Gurren Lagann
Shin Getter Robo is definitely my favourite out of those four, Mazinkaiser comes in a close second, although it definitely felt much worse to me than SGR, Gurren Lagann I found pretty underwhelming in terms of action and overall a pretty meh show, and dead last comes Evangelion for being a pretentious piece of trash.
What would you recommend for someone like me? Also, please actually recommend something instead of just going the lazy way and posting the /m/ essentials chart or what have you. Last but not least, I don't read manga, so only post recommendations that can be enjoyed as a standalone experience. Thanks in advance.
