Can't install windows

My laptop have a graphic card (AMD something) and the integrated intel hd graphic (cpu)
AMD card is defective, when enabled overheats and crash in fatal error
intel hd works well

When i try to install windows, it run the defective gpu by default, nothing is displayed and i can feel the card overheating,

HOW CAN I SELECT INTEL HD AT THE BOOT TO INSTALL WINDOWS ?

When windows is installed i know how to disable the gpu, but now i'm stuck with linux, which apparently is not as dumb as windows

Once it's installed, boot off a USB and delete the driver (deleting the .sys so it can't load will do), then blacklist the device in Group Policy.

cant u just go into safe mode and disable the gpu you don't want to use

yeah, there is no problem to disable it once windows is installed, the problem is installing it..

I missed an information, my laptop use an external monitor (not hdmi ), i also tried to boot the installation with monitor disconnected in the case it was triggering the defective gpu but still nothing appears...

Interesting that I had the same exact problem as you (hp g62 laptop from 2010 in which the amd gpu died around 2012, had to spend a lot of time figuring out how to make it work, eventually had to disable the gpu via policies to prevent it from installing on every single boot) and that's the reason I never formatted it, because I was afraid what's happening to you would happen. If you make it work please post how because I'm interested

yeah, hp g62, pc went on security thermal shutdown a couple of times before discovering it was a gpu problem, i just dissabled it, after few years it died for no reason (i wasn't using it), after some year when i needed to reset windows, no way to do it

this fucking g62 was a scam, a lot of people have gpu thermal and lifespan issue with this model

Once you install it and it crashes on boot, press f10 (or whatever) for the boot device selection screen, boot the installer disk/USB, and press shift-f10 for the command prompt.

Then just delete ATI/AMD_whatever.sys, and the driver will be unable to load. You can then remove it completely later when the install has finished.

Also, if i make an NTFS partition aside linux, is there a way to run linux and install windows on the ntfs partition, so that the default gpu is Intel ?

wouldnt it be easier to just disable the other gpu in the bios or on windows device manager (devmgmt.msc)?

i had some problems with the windows .iso, gonna try some of your suggestion tomorrow, i will look up again in the bios, but im sure there is not a gpu switch or something like that
