The same thing has happened here. When GamerGate happened, infinite was made. When /r9k/ went to shit for the first time, magicchan was made.
4chan itself was made in response to a bunch of weebs not knowing how to speak Japanese and use 2ch.
Many chans were made in response to 4chan fucking up or one of the other chans fucking up. 7, 711, 9, 420, etc., were all made because people wanted to move elsewhere.
In short, people who are upset about the state of their forum shouldn't go join a new one. They should make their own. Not enough people? Make a discord and spam it in other forums. That's much less harmful. Hate discord? Make a group on site.
Hell, there's a whole subset of wannabe *chan groups on Facebook that all go under the banner of />implying/.
