Can anyone recommend me a laptop? The ancient one I had finally kicked the bucket so I'm looking for something to replace it. I have about $1000 to spend here (I can go slightly higher if need be) but the cheaper the better of course.

It's mainly going to be a thing to lug back and forth to college lectures, but ideally I'd like to be able to play older games on it as well (OG Source Engine @ low settings, 60fps, and at a "decent" resolution would be about as powerful as I'd want). I'm thinking of installing Win 7 over the OS the laptop comes with, so there's no need to go all out in that regard.
