Please help me answer these questions, I got no idea.

Question 1
You have an email from a user of your company’s software detailing a problem they have, but one that you not only have not encountered before, but one where they are using the software in a way that you have not seen before. What do you do?

Question 2
Your area is prone to power cuts. Before you go on vacation, you plan to ensure that on your return, you can check if a power failure had caused your freezer to defrost while you were away i.e. if power was off for long enough for some or all of the food to thaw out. What is a simple method of ensuring this?

Question 3
What is the main advantage of round manhole covers compared with rectangular?

Question 4
Four interviewees are standing in a line, each facing forwards. They are not allowed to move, turn their heads or speak (except to give the answer). The fourth is behind a partition wall and can neither see nor be seen by the other candidates. Each is wearing a backpack of unknown colour which they can’t see (and are not allowed to take off), but all know that two backpacks are blue and two brown – the diagram below illustrates the backpack distribution. The interviewer makes them the following offer:

“If any one of you can tell me the colour of your backpack, you can have the job. If you answer incorrectly, you will be forced to sit in a room for 8 hours listening to Microsoft Technical Support’s on hold music. If you don’t speak, you fail to get the job, but have your travel expenses reimbursed.”

Does any candidate answer, and if so, which one? Why? The penalty for an incorrect answer is so horrible that no candidate will answer unless they know that they are correct.
