Help with C code

My program compiles and runs but gets stuck in a loop.
It seems that it doesn't like all the "VariableName + 1" lines that there are.

You need to use "+= 1".
>a + 1
Just means "think about the value 'a + 1' would have"; you can use it in statements like "b = a + 1" ("think about the value 'a + 1' would have, then store that value in 'b'".

Instead of writing "a = a + 1", you can use the shorthand "a += 1".

There's also "a++" and "++a", which only add 1. If you use "print(a++);" it will print the old value of a, if you use "print (++a);" it will print the new value of a (i.e. with 1 added to it).

I understand what Is going on now.
I made some changes to the code and now the loop terminates itself although it is printing this:

I will try to solve this by myself but if I find no solution I hope this thread is still here by then.

In case you've not got it sorted by now, you're getting random characters because C doesn't initialise strings so they just contain what was at that memory address last time it was used. You need to put a 0x00 on the end of your string so that printf knows it's the end of your string.

I took that in mind and added a \0 to the end of my string but I'm sure it isn't properly initialized.
Right now the issues are that all the spaces were erased at once and the input isn't being copied from one limit of the string to the other.

Your code uses some functions I have not be taught about yet. Dunno what to make out of that but I suppose I should look up the things I don't understand and make my own conclusions

This just makes sure the printf statement appears. I was using an online compiler to test the code and it was being slow to display it. You can just ignore it.
