Go to https://myaccount.google.com/
Under "Signin & Security" click on "Device activity & security events"
Click on "Review events"
Click on "Notice anything suspicious? Secure your account"
Click on "Change password" and follow the procedure

Any device previously logged in will have to enter the new password to continue, so change it to something he won't guess
