I recently watched Kachou Oji aka The Legend of Black Heaven.

The iconography surrounding the show as well as the OP/ED are incredible, but not completely representative of the show itself. It's about a middle aged salary man who misses his college days of being in a punk rock band. He gets a chance to relive the glory days when a mysterious woman invites him to pick up his guitar again and show off his skills on a stage.

The show is very low budget, but it has a lot of charm and an incredibly strong ending.
