assume p < q
assume you mean "sequence"

a1 = (p + q) / 2
a2 = (a1 + q) / 2
a3 = (a2 + q) / 2

in general, a(i) = (a(i-1) + q) / 2

informally: each number in the sequence is halfway between q and the previous number in the sequence. a1 > p and the sequence is monotonically increasing, so all a(i) are unique and all a(i) > p. they also never reach q, though the sequence converges on q.

(also each a(i) is rational because it's the quotient of two rationals)

This is one possible sequence, try thinking of another one that works! :)
