/a/ is mostly seasonal anime discussion, and their taste in seasonal shows isn't radically different than other big online anime communities. The real difference is in how anime is discussed, not which anime are discussed. There's quite a bit long running franchise discussion on /a/ too. The big battle shounen series obviously, but also many LN series (Raildex, Monogatari, Overlord, High School DxD, etc), and your obligatory eva threads or the occasional LoGH thread. Again, /a/ is not really unique in which series are perennial favorites, these are fairly common titles across all anime communities, the only real difference is how they talk about them.
