Looking for a simple, no registration, no crack software for basic shit like cutting, trimming, clipping together videos, muting, etc. For desktop.

Avidemux is a very basic and light-weight non-linear editor (webm related, from an old tutorial I wrote years ago). It's open source.

ffmpeg if you want to get into the deep end. It's command line only, but essentially what drives almost all other video software (including Avidemux) under the hood anyway. Also open source and thus completely free.

Blender Video Sequence Editor (VSE; a side-functionality of the 3D modelling software Blender) is the big-boy version. Still open source, but very complex. Handles like ass (but let's be honest - Premiere and Vegas also have a steep learning curve), but you can basically make hollywood movies with it.

Shotcut. I guess it's on-par with Avidemux? Haven't used the latter, but it appears to be the same type of ffmpeg-wrapper editor program. UI appears to be simpler based on >>523948, maybe that's a good thing if you want something simple. But I don't see a timeline editor here, and I like those.
