Revolutionary girl utena also after watching the movie and liking the surreal quality. Rewatching Ergo proxy as I last saw it when it came out.
I tend to read about shows before watching them because the time investment is so much even for a full cour but most places (apart from myanimelist where you can get a mixed set of opinions) give really shallow reviews.
