Guys I don’t know what the fuck. My processes are taking hours, and now this shit whatever it is. All the icons have fucking disappeared. It isn’t lack of cpu or anything those haven’t gone past 50% usage, I did just put a new CPI in but the thermal paste job was good I checked. Is it corruption? What could it be?

hwmonitor will tell you temps
did you wipe it clean before applying? did you firmly press the heat sink against the CPU? if it's floating on a blob of thermal paste I've got bad news for you: thermal paste is meant to cover spaces, not as the main heat conductor. main heat conductor is metal-to-metal contact. also are the fins near the fan clean? if they're covered with dust, heat transfer will also suffer. compressed air to flush out.

also task manager
right-click taskbar to get to it
what's taking up disk usage? what's taking CPU usage? click top of column to list by order of selected column.

look at event viewer. control panel, administrative tools, event viewer. any error messages? some are generic (google them). more concerning would be disk errors or bad blocks.

Nothing, that’s the problem. The thermal paste is fine temps are good, used about as much as a pea. Task manager says no more than 25% of everything is being used on paper it should be running flawlessly idk what is happening

that means a single-threaded process is running at 100%. because it's single-threaded it'll only use one logical core.
for example on a dual-core processor that same stuck infinite loop (windows update used to do this sometimes) it'd be stuck at 50%

anyway that's why you should order your processes by CPU usage and see what's taking up resources.

if it goes up and down, and occasionally peaks at 25%, then disregard my post
