Whenever I hear this I think of someone falling for a pyramid scheme or some overconfident dude who had a business for a few months and thinks they understand it all. Everyone I've known that tried to start a business fit that criteria. They get cocky and fail. Doesn't matter. If people can't handle a volunteer moderating position on a webforum, or a manager position at McDonald's, without letting it get to their head, then, they will, definitely be cocky if they thought they were their own boss.

A person who spends most of their time stocking grocery stores while taking orders from assistant managers that are likely younger than them,as well as asking for advice on 4chan likely aren't the type of people creative enough to just start a business out of the blue. He needs a more realistic in between transition first.

oh come on, OP is 30 and has worked almost 2 years of his life. Lots of people have done worse and have gone on to start their own successful businesses.
