So I've recently got back into anime, after completely skipping it for about 15 years, and I'm wondering what are deemed 'essentials' from that time?

I'm mainly looking for movies only, but I'm very open to all genres and themes. The only thing I'd like to avoid is trash production qualities. Made a quick list of pop mainstream stuff that I plan to catch up on (see first post), feel free to stray in anything released after 2005 or so (also feel free to convince me not to watch them).

TL;DR: What are (in your opinion) the essential anime movies from 2005 to 2018 ?
