>Akira Considered animu movie classic, very influential in animation in general, while watching pay attention to the lights as they are very well done
>Azumanga DaiohVery Japanese humor, at least the sub that I watched explained a lot of the jokes though
>Black LagoonA pretty good action show
>Cowboy BebopSpace western, another cult hit that should be on your "must watch" list. good music.
>FLCLVery unconventional and might seem confusing at first, but genuinely good show. Again, great soundtrack
>Ghost in the Shellthe 1995 movie is one of the most influental sci-fi movies ever made. Famously, when the wachowskis wanted to make "The Matrix" they showed GitS and said "we wan't to make this, but real" and it shows. some scenes in the matrix are taken shot for shot from this. Watch both the movie and "Stand Alone Complex" for a good time
