Odd request, but is there an anime that's a combination of Welcome to the NHK and Death Note? I finished the latter recently for the first time and I kind of want to continue indulging in this genre. At the same time, I want to watch another anime like NHK. Why not kill two birds with one stone?

Kaiji is the best one that I can think of. The main character is a complete loser in most aspects of life and tries get money to pay off his debt by gambling which often results in Death Note style mind games.

Thanks for the recommendations. I watched a couple of episodes of The Tatami Galaxy until I dropped it when I noticed that each episode was identical in it's structure. I'll give it another shot.
As for Kaiji, I read some chapters up until they had to gather a shit ton of rock cards. Should I just continue reading or watch the anime?
