>>594596Most anime directed by Masaaki Yuasa are pretty out there in animation style. There's also Gainax/Trigger's more American/non-Japanese stuff like Dead Leaves, Panty & Stocking, Inferno Cop, Ninja Slayer. Cat Soup, Tsumiki no Ie, Hashi no Mukou, and Shashinkan are some more strange-looking anime.
Also, if you want a whole barrage of weird-looking anime, I highly urge you to look into collaboration anime where they put tons of different animations from different directors all into one big collection. A lot of them are highly niche, but most of them are very interesting and unlike most TV or movie anime.
Here's a list of stuff I've watched: Memories, Robot Carnival, The Animatrix, Neo Tokyo, Japan Animator's Expo, Batman: Gotham Knight, Short Peace, L'Animation Indépendante Japonaise volumes 1 and 2, Deep Imagination, Genius Party, Genius Party Beyond, Ani*Kuri15, Digital Juice, and probably some more that I'm forgetting. You can probably find most of this stuff on Nyaa, but some of them are crazy obscure.
I feel like I should make a chart of this stuff at some point, if there isn't already one. I absolutely love these sorts of director/animator collections.
Sorry for recommending so much shit at once, by the way. Also sorry if you just wanted TV anime. Hope you enjoy whatever you end up watching.
