I'm kind of an oldfag, but my favorites are Fist of the North Star and Urusei Yatsura. Urusei Yatsura is more enjoyable if you skip the first 20 or so episodes, maybe watch Episode 1 and Episode 10.

The only anime I've actually seen were the Ghibli Studio animes as a child, and I loved those.
