It's a tricky issue. By trying to sneak in and figure out if he's done anything without his knowledge is pretty awful. However, it's likely that if you just up and talk to the kid, he'll take it as an accusation anyway.

You can't use kali to "get into" personal computers like that. He could use a packet sniffer to sniff out website login information, but it gets transmitted heavily encrypted (at least it's supposed to be) and I doubt a 14 year old can read packets, let alone decrypt encrypted ones. You don't need a way to tell if he's done anything to your computers. He hasn't.
