Is there a essential TV shows/movies list like they are for anime? Or like flowchart or something.

Or someone could just tell me what your favourite show or movie is.

I'm pretty plebeian at this kinda thing, but my favourite TV shows are Flight of the Conchords and Spoils of Babylon. My favourite movie is Napoleon Dynamite. I'm fairly sure you can google for a /tv/ wiki which will have recommendation charts, probably better for ya.

After a certain point you mainly just move on to mainly watching seasonal anime or looking further back at much older anime. To fill in gaps you may want to look into reading VNs or LNs.

I mean if you want favorites I don't watch tv outside anime but movie-wise I enjoy a lot of Andrei Tarkovsky's films (such as Stalker and Solaris)
