can you elaborate what the issue is? what software are you opening them on? windows? some smartphone software?

I assume the windows basic one isn't working, so try https://www.movavi.com/learning-portal/best-photo-viewers-windows-10.html a different photo software, and if not that, then https://en.bandisoft.com/honeyview/
if neither of those work, then well, it's just not worth the hassle with the code

yeah that's alright anon, only other thing I can think of is using other software to recover the files and hoping they have better luck at piecing the pieces together
