No I don't want your recommendations.
This thread is for all the lost souls watching whatever crap makes the front page of /a/, since you guys tend to watch whatever garbage Japan happens to be making at the time.
As a footnote, if you're watching an anime adapted from a manga, stop.
The manga is always better, no exceptions.
The novel is always better than the manga, but poorly translated, no exceptions.

Anime:

1. The "classics": GiTS, CBBB, Paranoia Agent, FLCL, etc.
2. Films that were intended to be stories unto themselves and not filler for some crap series: Akira, Paprika, Redline, and most Miyazaki/Ghibli films. Check for manga on the Miyazaki films.
3. A few /a/ doesn't talk about(much): Eve no Jikan, Arakawa Under the Bridge, Jyu Oh Sei

I don't watch anime anymore to be honest.
There's enough manga to keep me busy for the rest of life, this is the final form of anybody to watches enough anime to get bored of the continuous tropes.


Manga:

1. The "classics": YKK, GUNNM, Berserk, Angel Densetsu, etc.
2. A few /a/ doesn't talk about(much): Dorohedoro, Silver Spoon, Onanie Master Kurosawa, Oyaji
3. A few I have never seen mentioned here: Kenji (Ryuchi Matsuda), Inu Neko Jump!, Itoshi no Kana, Kimi ni Todoke

There's honestly too much manga to mention.
