Just look for rogue-likes really. Maybe you're interested in stuff that you can play endlessly, too. In this case, check out the Anno series.

Well I'm really just looking for a game I can play on the side from time to time while playing a regular game with a story. Isaac and Gungeon feel too slow, I played nuclear throne too much by now and not really into strategy games. Dwarf fortress looks fun, I'll go check it out. Thanks.

I cant really recommend this game as I have never actuallly played it myself however my mate is constantly playing it when ever hes waiting to respawn in games or eating or something. I dont think it plays anything like boi but might be worth looking into?
