Anime that has already finished

Please recommend me your favourite anime that has already finished. That is, no anime that are left on a "read the manga/LN" type ending, I would like to watch something knowing a proper conclusion awaits.
I have no preference of genre, so long as it tells a good story.

Trigger's works are almost exclusively self contained and are some of the best anime ever made. I'd recommend to go through those, Kill la kill, space patrol luluco, lwa, franxx, ssssgridman, kiznaiver...
That goes as well for most of the works of gainax and khara, literally the same people, most of their stuff has been self contained since the 80s. Specifically go watch japan animator expo.
Devilman crybaby fits the whole manga in it till the end, so self contained there.
A lot of ovas and films from the 90s&80s were self contained one offs. California crisis & angel's egg are two I'd highly recommend.

Trigger are the Blizzard of anime; spontaneous asspulls that their fanboys eat up regardless. Franxx and Kiznaiver especially are pretty bad and KLK is average. Gridman is just animated tokusatsu for better or worse, personally I hated it.

Nothing about Lain is brilliant, it's barely coherent. Try watching Aquarion Logos sometime, unlike Lain it actually follows through and goes in depth with its philosophies. As for what stuff I class as good I usually post a lot of 10/10 anime including stuff I gave OP to watch.

I don't need Gurren Lagann levels of escalation and bang bang pewaaar. I loved Gurren Lagann don't get me wrong but I can also enjoy a more poignant journey. If I watch an action packed series, I then want to watch something with a more sedate pace.

Infinite Ryvius is objectively a great anime.

Code Geass
Cross Game
Steins Gate
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Tsuki ga Kirei
and I guess Eureka Seven even though I'm not a huge fan
Personally I also love Magic Knight Rayearth, and it ends properly, so you could watch that too
