As much I would like to thank you, I already broke down and bought the font. However, I am now having the problem where it doesn't seem to be working with Anki. I've tried doing exactly what the https://apps.ankiweb.net/docs/manual.html#files manual says. I've installed the font, but no name combination seems to work in the cards.

It seems the problem is that when the OTF file converts to the TTF file, it become unstable. I can see this by comparing other TTF files in the Anki media folder, which are several megabytes at least, while the file I am using is only like thirty kilobytes.

Okay, I got the solution. I don't know why I could not convert the .otf file into .ttf. However the solution was to just try using .otf file, and surprisingly, it worked as easy as it should have been to begin with. I wish the manual didn't say that .ttf files had to be used. I regret that I had to waste nearly $10 to get this font when an anon here gave it to me for free, but I'm glad I got this settled.

Here's another version of the font, which is the one used in Persona 5, by the way.

Your only problem is being so worried about slutting up your learning tools instead of focusing in learning. Just go and fucking read real Japanese in any form or font that's being currently used irl, and do it now.

Fucking drop Anki anyways, you could retain so much better practicing strokes, radicales, whole characters and words. Slower progression regarding no-furigana reading comprehension, but way better for retaining results or character recognition mid-long term.
