Completely agree with this list. I have similar tastes to OP and have enjoyed all of these very much.
I'd also add Freesia (manga). It's dark, gloomy, psychological and at times surreal.

Because it's already listed in every single recommendation thread and every single recommendation chart. You can think about the concept of anime recommendations and your neighbor is going to yell out "GHOST IN THE SHELL!" at the top of his lungs. It's like recommending Cowboy Bebop at this point.

I'd think OP would watch it. It's a three movie Sci-fi cyberpunk style miniseries. Fully CGA but a good looking one.
