Animation software

Looking to do some basic 2D animation for a gondola.
Just some simple stuff, moving/spinning objects over a still background.
What software would you recommend?

I would recommend Adobe After Effects since you can animate in 2D really fast (once you learn the basics), it has lots of cool effects and you can also edit video.

There's also OpenToonz its the only animation software that is free and have all the options you might need, also you don't have to pirate anything - however its kinda hard to get used to.

There's also Adobe Animate CC which is like the old flash, its easier than after effects but if you want to upload to youtube you might need a video editor.
