Why does Spanish outside of television and film sound absolutely fucking retarded? When I hear it IRL I just have to cringe. Having to listen to Spanish is unironically one of the reasons I left a previous job.
It's not just specific accents either: the speakers that make me cringe IRL can be from Spain, Latin America, or even locals who learned it at college. And the Spanish-language movies I watched witout issues were from both sides of the Atlantic too.
