what are some of the better torrent clients these days? done a bit of reading on google and seems like deluge is fairly popular, but wanted to get some more opinions

Transmission is decent I hear. I use Deluge myself, it works fine but gets a little sluggish when removing torrents or shutting down. Haven't updated in a while though, maybe they fixed that.

deluge - good but current version is fucked for stats. works 'fine' elsewise

qbittorrent - works well. doesnt have headless mode but have a really good rss reader. ie: good for horriblesubs

transmission - no point considering, lacks too many features

bittorrent, bitcomet, etc - botnet

vuze - not good, asks for cash for features that qbittorent already has

biglybt - oh yeah thats a thing...

rtorrent - great headless mode. has good irc bot, but ive never used it.

Does anyone know a good irc bot that works easy with qbittorrent?

qbittorrent with python search plugin. Only downside I had was that some private trackers claim that it "can" maybe perhaps report fucked up stats sometimes, but has never happened to me.

I've been using qBittorrent for ages now. At this point I'm just used to the UI and don't want to hop to a new one, I've got it all set up the way I like.

If you're on linux, I'd go with Deluge though, I hear tons of good things about it.

it only matters if you care about stats. plus deluge uses gtk instead of qt or something else so it always looks gross. In private trackers it doesnt screw it up. I think transmission is the one that fucked up private trackers because they trimmed request packets or some stupid shit

qbittorrent works on *GNU/ Linux as well, in fact if your using qt (plasma) its imo the best choice. the rss feed is godlike. tell me you use it yeah?
