NewPipe. You have to use the pop-up player or the audio only mode, if you full screen and then turn off the screen it will pause.
You can also open yt links in VLC.
You can also use Firefox and install uBlockOrigin in it.

All of this will take less space than regular yt app and won't show any ads.
