>>711574That's a neat story, but it doesn't match with reality very well. Sony, Samsung, HP and Gigabyte really did my head in with 'paperweights' except that they cost many hundreds or thousands, and then hundreds again to repair. It was an extremely low bar of reliability, which the chinese products I've brought easily surpassed.
I won't argue too hard, because I'm not gonna change your opinion and mine won't either, but just for anyone on on the fence, for years I haven't had a single chinese device unreasonably break down (batteries degrade on every device), and when I've dealt with chinese customer service they are always trying to be helpful and parts are dirt cheap.
It's in their best interest to serve the customer well, because if they don't then they'll get bad reviews for it, or be reported, then at best people will just avoid their badly reviewed products, and at worst they'll be removed from the marketplace sites.
It's the basics of business when it comes down to it.
Pick and choose what you buy with care and you'll never be disappointed. It's the same story with stuff from the US, or anywhere around the globe.
